Cocopeat or coco coir are terms used interchangeably. Both these substances are considered suitable to be used as substrates for plants. Coco peat is made from coconut husks. Coco peat is utilised as a potting mix, added to soil, or used on its own as a hydroponic growing medium. Further, coco coir is less likely to compact compared to other substrates such as peat moss, allowing improved drainage and aeration for plants.
